It all began with inner instability, which led me to embark on a path toward restoring balance

I now practice yoga and Pilates daily, and I regularly play the gong to bring my mind and spirit back to calm and equilibrium. But this mindful, body-centered lifestyle wasn’t always part of my routine.

Growing up, physical health and well-being were rarely discussed, and we had very limited knowledge about how to truly care for ourselves. I’ve always been athletic—running fast at school sports days as a child. But somehow, I lost interest in physical activity during secondary school. In university, I tried to lose weight by eating only one apple a day. Though I slimmed down, I became skin and bones—no muscle, no proper nutrition, constantly exhausted and mentally drained.

Back in university, I lost the weight—but also my strength, energy, and vitality. What remained was a fragile body and a tired soul.

Starting my career at an international PR firm, I worked tirelessly to gain recognition, often skipping meals and losing my sense of taste altogether. The constant stress and unreasonable clients left me physically and emotionally depleted.

The turning point came in 2004, when I bought a DVD by Almen Wong and first encountered Sun Salutations. The feeling of graceful movement and reconnecting with my breath was unforgettable. Soon after, I began attending yoga classes at PURE YOGA—once a week, then three times a week, until I told myself daily: “Not going to yoga is not an option.” Practice became a daily rhythm.

Around that time, I began dating my now-husband, who often cooked delicious meals. Yoga combined with balanced nutrition helped me regain my health—and my smile. Yoga allowed me to relax and rediscover myself.

Day after day, I played countless roles, yet felt trapped in an unrelenting cycle

Another emotional challenge in my life was the transition into motherhood—it was a time of profound change, vulnerability, and growth. On the day I gave birth, my weight had climbed to 200 pounds. Though it gradually dropped over the years, I often felt dizzy during exercise and turned to food for comfort. That period was especially hard—I felt I couldn’t fully commit to work, felt guilty toward my children, and cried almost daily.

This period also prompted me to reflect on my emotional well-being in relation to work. I spent over 20 years in corporate marketing, thriving on the adrenaline and fast pace. I move swiftly and with intention, always focused on achieving my goals efficiently. But over time, my body began to send warning signals: heart palpitations, abdominal pain, and tension stretched like a rubber band about to snap. My family became the unintended outlet for my stress.

In the fast-paced world of corporate marketing, finding a path to inner balance is not just important—it’s essential.

Change was necessary—to walk a longer path with calm and strength

I realized that without change, the road ahead would only grow harder. So I committed to daily yoga practice and adjusted my diet under a nutritionist’s guidance. Gradually, my body and mind returned to a state of balance.

During the COVID pandemic, with no more business trips, I enrolled in a yoga teacher training course. I’ve always held a deep wish—to pass on kindness, create positive change for others, and let life touch life. That belief is what inspired me to become a yoga teacher.

My reason for becoming a yoga teacher is rooted in a deep desire to create positive change in others—to let life gently touch life, and allow healing to ripple outward.

Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I pursued courses in various fields and discovered sound healing, gongs, and singing bowls. Their mysterious and powerful allure moved me deeply. I wanted to share this knowledge with more students so they too could experience its benefits.

Yoga and sound healing reconnected me with balance

My first one-on-one gong therapy session with a Taiwanese teacher was profoundly moving. The focused gong strikes, the sound, vibration, and frequency—both powerful and gentle—pierced my ears and reached the deepest wounds and frayed nerves within me, as if shattering a broken heart.

My body and soul scattered like fragments, then slowly settled and reassembled. My body felt lighter, my chaotic thoughts were cleansed—it was an unprecedented sensation. I believe it was the teacher’s compassion and kindness that guided me to this experience. Of course, each person’s connection with the gong is unique—and that’s its beauty.

The sound of the gong—its deep, mysterious power—struck me to the core.

My students have shared their experiences after attending my gong meditation sessions: some felt deeply relaxed, some envisioned walking along the beach or through forests, and some felt tension in their throats melt away.

Their stories inspire me. Every gong session is a new journey, and each one reminds me of my original intention as a yoga teacher: to make a positive impact on others.

Sharing the benefits of gong healing with my students has been deeply rewarding—and I, too, continue to be nourished by its powerful vibrations.

I believe many people around me are walking a similar path in their own unique way—playing different roles, carrying responsibilities, and riding the waves of emotion. Through my journey and learning, I hope to help them rediscover peace and balance in their lives, and walk farther with a calm heart.
